Initial Sketch
For my initial sketch, I used ball-point pen to do a rough sketch of what had initially popped into my mind when researching this topic. The squirrel is seen above, reaching down into the pit where the vole rest. The vole is unaware of its doomed fate as it continues to chew on some food. Symbolically, the squirrel reaches at the vole and not the food signifying the turn in their diet.

Final Render
On illustration board, I created a fully rendered composition with graphite pencil. Through Procreate I was able to add more elements to create a more dynamic piece with color and lighting.
